Allegro.eu S.A.Allegro e-commerce analyses opportunities to expand offering and enter new segments
Listed e-commerce platform Allegro is analysing opportunities to expand its offering and enter new segments in order to accelerate future growth, group representatives told a video conference following the release of Allegro's financial report for the first half of 2025.
"(...) We want to discover new market segments, we want to grow with our customers in order to meet the needs of future generations," Allegro's CEO Marcin Kusmierz told the video conference.
"First and foremost, we want to strengthen our core business, we want to strengthen and expand our marketplace (...), but we also want to complement this with additional services to truly meet the needs of our customers," he added.
CEO Kusmierz said that Allegro will also consider adding various additional services to support the purchasing process.
"We cover almost all categories on the market, but we see that new categories or services are emerging and becoming popular among consumers," he pointed out.
"We are conducting various studies on what other products could be added to the marketplace in order to truly evolve with our customers and attract new customer groups, understood as consumers, but also as sellers," he added.
Kusmierz pointed out that the company is paying particular attention to the services market.
"We see that consumers increasingly want to be provided with various types of services, and we are considering entering various segments," the CEO said.
"The services market is evolving rapidly, developing quickly, and here we also see the potential to attract new customer groups and create new value for them," he added.
Allegro's CEO announced that the potential use of services that are part of the Allegro group and making them available outside the marketplace is also being considered. In this context, he pointed to the example of Allegro Pay and advertising services.
When asked whether the company is considering acquisitions when considering new services, CEO Kusmierz replied: "It is still too early to give a clear answer to this question. We are at a fairly early stage of analysing the market, the potential and where we can be and what value we can create for our customers. Of course, hypothetically, we can consider today that it could be both organic growth and potentially M&A."
"First and foremost, we are a marketplace, and the bulk of our business is based on cooperation with merchants and partners. This is our target model, and this is how we want to grow. So, if we decide to enter new market segments, it is likely that the bulk of our activity will also be based on cooperation with external partners," he added.
Allegro is implementing various AI solutions, seeing enormous potential in this technology. The CEO assessed that AI could improve the customer shopping experience and increase the group's productivity.
