CD Projekt SACD Projekt games presents first trailer for Witcher IV; with Ciri as main character
Listed video games producer CD Projekt has presented the first trailer for The Witcher IV at The Game Awards gala in Los Angeles. The game's main character will be Ciri, a key character in both Andrzej Sapkowski's books and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The developer promises that the game will be the most ambitious among the series.
The trailer was the first world premiere revealed during the main part of The Game Awards gala.
"The Witcher IV is an open-world role-playing game, which is the beginning of the new Witcher saga from CD PROJEKT RED studio," the company wrote in a note on its website.
"Players will take on the role of Ciri, a professional monster slayer, and embark on a journey through a world full of dangers," it added.
The announcement did not include any information on the game's release date.
On the occasion of the publication of its financial report for the third quarter of 2024, CD Projekt announced that the game had entered the full-scale production phase.
In May 2023, the games developer reported that games from the first Witcher saga had sold 75 million copies, with Witcher 3 alone selling 50 million copies.
