Fitch affirms BNP Paribas BP lender rating at 'A+'; changes outlook to negative

Fitch rating agency has affirmed listed lender BNP Paribas BP issuer default rating (LT IDR) at ‘A+’, changing the outlook to negative from stable, the agency said in a statement.


As stated, the change in the bank's rating outlook is a consequence of the revision of Poland's domestic currency long-term foreign-currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) to negative.

"The bank's ratings are limited to two notches above the rating for Poland (+A-/Negative+), due to the inclusion of country risk, which, in the agency's opinion, may limit the bank's ability to obtain support from its parent company in the event of a crisis," it added.

The Shareholder Support Rating (SSR) was confirmed at 'a+' and the Viability Rating ('VR') at 'bbb-'.
