JSW SAJSW coal estimates its EBITDA loss at PLN 1.227 bln, net loss at PLN 1.363 bln in Q1 2025
Listed coking coal group JSW estimates that its EBITDA loss in the first quarter of 2025 amounted to PLN 1.227 billion (EUR 288.6 mln) and its net loss reached PLN 1.363 billion (EUR 320.6 mln), JSW said in a market filing. The PAP Biznes consensus has assumed an EBITDA loss of PLN 508.5 million (EUR 119.6 mln) and a net loss of PLN 888.6 million (EUR 209 mln).
According to the estimates, sales revenue amounted to PLN 2.438 billion (EUR 573.4 mln).
"The financial result was significantly impacted by the recognition of a write-off of fixed assets in the coal segment in the total amount of PLN 648.0 million, related to the events occurring at the Knurow-Szczyglowice Ruch Szczyglowice mine (...)," JSW said in the market filing.
As reported, in the first quarter of 2025, total coal production was 2.86 million tonnes, coking coal production was 2.32 million tonnes, thermal coal production was 0.54 million tonnes and total coke production was 0.70 million tonnes.
Final consolidated financial results for the period will be detailed in the quarterly report, which JSW is slated to publish on May 30, 2025.
