Orlen energy's VC fund invests in Energy Impact Partners

Poland's largest energy concern Orlen's venture capital fund has invested in Energy Impact Partners (EIP), one of the largest VC funds supporting climate, energy and industrial technologies. As part of the investment, Orlen VC has joined Flagship Fund III, the company announced in a press release.

"Joining Energy Impact Partners is another important step in implementing the Orlen Group's strategy for innovation and sustainable development," said Orlen's CEO Ireneusz Fafara, quoted in the press release.

"Cooperation with one of the world's most important climate funds opens up new opportunities for us, both in the area of energy transformation and in the modernisation of refining and fuel processes," he added.

Energy Impact Partners is a platform that combines capital potential with a network of expertise and relationships between the world's largest energy, technology and industrial companies.

As pointed out in the press release, thanks to this platform, Orlen VC gains access to technology companies and the opportunity to cooperate with companies that implement technologies supporting decarbonisation and energy efficiency.

The partnership is expected to accelerate the process of implementing innovations in the Orlen group, from energy to refining and the development of global projects.

Energy Impact Partners is a global venture capital investment fund focused on technologies transforming the energy and industrial sectors.

The fund works with over 70 corporate investors from the energy, fuel, industrial and technology sectors around the world.

It manages over USD 4 billion in assets across seven funds, and its portfolio includes over 100 companies operating in the areas of clean energy, digitisation and sustainable infrastructure.
