PKO BP SAPKO BP lender starts operational activities of corporate branch in Romania
Poland's largest lender by assets PKO BP's corporate branch in Bucharest, Romania, has commenced operations since January 2025, the bank said in a press release.
The bank stated that PKO Bank Polski S.A. Varsovia, Sucursala Bucuresti wants to be the bank of first choice for Polish companies operating on the Romanian market and the gateway for Romanian companies entering the Polish market.
Services in Romania are provided based on a European passport.
"The development of a network of foreign corporate branches is our response to the needs of Polish companies, which are gradually increasing their presence on foreign markets," said PKO BP's deputy CEO Marek Radzikowski, quoted in the press release.
"It is also the implementation of an important element of PKO BP's Strategy 2025-2027," he added.
PKO BP's first foreign corporate branch was launched in 2015 in Germany, in Frankfurt am Main. Since 2017, the bank has been active in the Czech market, and from 2021 also in the Slovak market. PKO BP is also present in Ukraine, through the group's Kredobank.
