Poland records PLN 4.7 bln increase of foreign investors' share in T-bonds to PLN 171.1 bln in August
Polish Treasury bonds saw the share of foreign investors increasing by PLN 4.7 billion (EUR 1.1 bln) in August to PLN 171.1 billion (EUR 40.1 bln), the deputy minister of finance Jurand Drop said in a comment to monthly and quarterly securities supply.
"In August, domestic Treasury securities debt increased by PLN 16.4 billion, amounting to PLN 1,378.9 billion. This consisted of an increase in debt to all three main investor groups, i.e.: domestic non-bank investors by PLN 7.0 billion (to PLN 509.9 billion), lenders (including Poland's central bank NBP) by PLN 4.7 billion (to PLN 697.9 billion) and non-residents by PLN 4.7 billion (to PLN 171.1 bln)," the ministry reported.
"As a result, the share of non-bank investors in domestic Treasury securities debt at end-August rose to 37.0 percent from 36.9 percent in July (versus 36.4 percent at end-December 2024, and the share of banks (including NBP) declined to 50.6 percent from 50.9 percent in the previous month (against 51.0 percent at end-December 2024)," it added.
The share of non-residents in domestic Treasury securities debt increased to 12.4 percent from 12.2 percent at the end of July (12.7 percent at the end of December 2024).
