Poland's budget deficit and gg deficit reduction as top priority, says FinMin
Reducing the budget deficit and the general government deficit is an absolute priority, Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domanski told a press conference on Thursday.
"In regard to forecasts that the deficit will fall below 3 percent of GDP, we will fulfil our obligations under the excessive deficit procedure. Let me just remind you that these relate to maintaining a certain spending path, not to reducing the deficit to a specific level in a specific year," Domanski said.
"Nevertheless, I would like to say very clearly that, for me, reducing the budget deficit and the sector deficit [gg deficit - PAP ed.] is an absolute priority," he added.
Poland's current forecast deficit for the general government sector in 2025 is 6.9 percent and 6.5 percent in 2026, according to statements made by the minister.
