Poland's economic acceleration in 2026 will limit scale of decline in inflation - MPC
According to Poland's central bank NBP, the acceleration of economic activity next year will limit the scale of the decline in inflation, including core inflation, the Monetary Policy Council said in its opinion on the draft budget for 2026.
"The draft [budget] bill assumes that the average annual inflation rate for consumer goods and services in 2026 will fall to 3.0 percent (against 3.7 percent this year), which is close to the November projection by the National Bank of Poland," the MPC noted.
"Both the NBP's November projection and the explanatory memorandum assume that a moderate increase in import prices and lower energy commodity prices on global markets will be significant factors contributing to the decline in inflation," it added.
The Council pointed out that in the NBP's assessment, the acceleration of economic activity next year will limit the scale of the decline in inflation, including core inflation.
