Poland's official signing of EDA agreement with Westinghouse-Bechtel next week
Next week, Poland should see the official signing of the Engineering Development Agreement with Westinghouse-Bechtel for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Pomerania, said Wojciech Wrochna, government plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure.
"It seems to me that the EDA agreement with Westinghouse-Bechtel regarding the construction of a nuclear power plant in Pomerania should be officially signed next week," Wrochna said at a briefing during the European Economic Congress in Katowice.
At the beginning of April, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Poland had negotiated a new contract with the nuclear power plant contractors.
In 2023, the 100-percent state-owned SPV Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ), Westinghouse and Bechtel signed a contract to design Poland's first nuclear power plant, which will be built in Pomerania.
