Poland's prolonged period of elevated CPI may increase wage pressures - c. bank governor
Prolonged period of elevated CPI may affect inflation expectations and increase wage pressures, Poland's central bank NBP governor Adam Glapinski told a press conference following a Monetary Policy Council's decision on interest rates made on Thursday
"Today, the overall macroeconomic picture does not encourage a rapid adjustment of interest rates," Glapinski assessed.
"Of particular relevance is the fact that a prolonged period of elevated inflation increases the risk of rising inflation expectations. This could translate into wage pressures and ultimately perpetuate high price growth," he added.
