Poland's strategic reserves agency will sell butter from reserves to stabilise market situation

Poland's Government Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS) has announced a tender for the sale of large quantities of butter in order to stabilise the situation on the Polish market due to global price increases, the Prime Minister's office KPRM reported.

"Recently, the price of butter has increased considerably on world markets, which is primarily the result of a milk shortage. This situation has also affected Poland. In order to stabilise the situation on the market, the Government Strategic Reserve Agency has announced a tender for the sale of large quantities of butter," the release stated.

The tender announced by RARS is for the sale of frozen butter in 25 kilogrammes blocks. In total, the Agency wants to sell around 1,000 tonnes of the product.

"The minimum selling price for butter is PLN 28.38/kg (excluding VAT). The opening of bids related to the tender will take place on December 19, 2024," the Prime Minister's office announced.

The butter sold by RARS comes from the Agency's food reserves.

As noted, these reserves are established to maintain the continuity of supplies necessary for the functioning of the economy and to meet the basic needs of citizens.
