To date, more than 900 applications for PLN 3.7 billion (EUR 862.1 mln) have been submitted in the open call for EU-funded loans for the green transformation of cities under the national recovery plan KPO, Poland's Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy (MFiPR) reported. The available pool for this instrument is approximately PLN 40 billion (EUR 9.3 bln).
"[Poland's state development bank] BGK has concluded 179 agreements with a total value of PLN 841 million to finance projects supporting the green transformation of cities, including Warsaw, Cracow, Bialystok and Kielce," the development funds ministry wrote in a statement.
"The aim of the initiative is primarily to implement measures that contribute to reducing the negative impact of people on the natural environment and lead to climate neutrality," it added.
The ministry continued that to date, more than 900 applications for PLN 3.7 billion (EUR 862.1 mln) have been submitted in the open call for EU funded-loans for the green transformation of cities under the national recovery plan KPO. The available pool for this instrument is approximately PLN 40 billion (EUR 9.3 bln).
Among others, local government units and municipal companies can benefit from these loans.
"The loan is granted for up to 20 years. Its interest rate (depending on the project and the status of the entity applying for funds) is 0 percent, 1 percent or the NBP reference rate reduced by 1 percentage point," MFiPR explained.
