Polish decision-makers optimistic about economic and technological future - PIE
Polish decision-makers believe the country's economy will gradually improve over the next decade, according to a report by the Polish Economic Institute PIE. The study highlights the importance of digitalization, cybersecurity, and technological advancements as key priorities for Poland's development.
The report states that "automation, understood as both an opportunity and a challenge for the country's future, dominates the imagination of Polish digital policy."
Decision-makers emphasize that rapid action is necessary to mitigate potential negative social impacts of automation.
The study also reveals concerns about excessive regulation in the technology sector.
Respondents fear that overly restrictive policies could hinder innovation and discourage foreign investment. They suggest that balancing regulation is crucial to fostering growth in Poland's tech industry.
According to the report, decision-makers envision digitalization as a cornerstone of national progress.
"The priorities for Poland that emerge from our interviews for the next decade are digitisation of companies, digitisation of public administration, increasing cybersecurity, development of digital infrastructure and fighting digital exclusion. Digitisation of companies remains one of the greatest challenges," the economists wrote.
"Decision makers indicate that many companies do not implement modern technologies because they do not see the benefits of doing so," they added.
