Ukraine's President proposes construction of joint air defence shield with European partners
Ukraine would like to build a joint air defence shield with its European partners to protect against threats from Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy declared on Monday during an online speech at the Warsaw Security Forum.
"Ukraine proposes to Poland and all our partners to build a joint, fully reliable shield against Russian threats from the air," Zelenskiy said.
"It is possible. Ukraine is capable of combating all types of Russian drones and missiles, and if we work together in the region, we will have sufficient weapons and adequate production capabilities," he argued.
The Warsaw Security Forum is organised by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation, with the participation of, among others, Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk. It is an annual international event held in Warsaw, which brings together politicians, security experts, military personnel, diplomats and representatives of international organisations.
