Listed telecom operator Orange Polska sees growing potential in increasing defence spending and sees it as an opportunity for the company and its telecommunications and ICT services, the company's CEO Liudmila Climoc told a meeting with analysts following the release of Orange's financial report. In CEO's opinion, the operator has the necessary expertise related to services for the defence sector.
"We see growing potential in increasing defence and security spending and believe that this is a great opportunity for us. We are in a very good position as a reliable and trustworthy partner for both the public sector and private entities," CEO Climoc said.
She added that Orange Polska has the expertise to exploit the potential associated with the defence sector.
"I would like to point out that within the telecommunications market, we combine unique skills specific to the sector with those closely related to ICT solutions," the CEO said.
"For example, we have a strategic partnership with the Ministry of National Defence, to which we provide critical infrastructure components and ICT services that support national security," she explained.
In addition, Climoc announced that Orange Polska is the largest provider of mobile telephony services to the military.
"Another example is the specialised IT solutions we have introduced for military hospitals," she pointed out.
In Orange's report for the second quarter of 2025, CEO Climoc pointed out that she sees better prospects for the second half of the year in IT and integration services. She also assessed that the company is well prepared to take advantage of opportunities in this area resulting from future growth in defence industry spending.
In the second quarter of 2025, Orange Polska posted an attributable net profit of PLN 274.0 million (EUR 64.3 mln), above market expectations of PLN 264.2 million (EUR 62 mln), while EBITDA after lease (EBITDAaL) amounted to PLN 891 million (EUR 209.1 mln) against the market expectations of PLN 865.7 million (EUR 203.2 mln).
