Poland's Job Barometer down by 3.5 pt in April to 257.9 - BIEC researcher
Poland's Job Barometer index, indicating changes in the number of jobs offers published online, decreased in April by 3.5 points to 257.9 points, the economic researcher BIEC and Department of Macroeconomics at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow reported.
"Although the decrease compared to last month was relatively small, due to the slow pace of growth in previous months, the number of vacancies approached the level recorded at the beginning of the year," wrote the report.
"Ultimately, for almost a year and a half, the number of job offers in Poland has been oscillating around a similar value and has remained at the same level," it added.
The authors of the survey report that in many categories of offers employers are still reluctant to look for employees, and in some they are still cutting vacancies.
"Only in a few categories are employers increasing recruitment activity, among which construction and manual jobs remain. We are seeing an improvement in IT occupations, although due to the sharp declines to date and the current trends in artificial intelligence, breaking through the previous peak appears to be a difficult task," they wrote.
The survey shows that some occupations have now seen a correction after previous increases, and these include tourism and customer service.
