Unilever completes PLN 150 mln investment in its Bydgoszcz factory
Polish branch of UK-based Unilever has completed a PLN 150 million (EUR 35.4 mln) investment in its Bydgoszcz factory, which specialises in cosmetics and personal care products, the company said in a press release. The investment included the construction of a fully automated high-bay warehouse and the launch of two new deodorant stick production lines.
"The launch of the deodorant stick production line is a strategic investment for our factory - not only from a local perspective, but for the entire region. This investment has made it possible to start deo-stick production in Europe," said the head of the Unilever factory in Bydgoszcz Dorota Maskiewicz, quoted in the press release.
"Currently, both lines produce nearly 20 percent of the Bydgoszcz factory's total output in volume terms," she added.
Maskiewicz stressed that thanks to the investment, Unilever Polska will be able to plan the work of the warehouse much more efficiently as the company has reduced the loading time of a single transport from three hours to just one hour.
More than 90 percent of production from the Bydgoszcz factory is exported. The largest markets for the stick deodorants produced on the two new production lines will be the UK, Italy and Germany.
