PKP Cargo's market share down y/y to 25.87 pct post-September - rail haul authority

After September 2025, listed rail hauler PKP Cargo suffered a year-on-year market share decline volume-wise to 25.87 percent from 27.54 percent in the prior year period, while recording an increase in monthly terms from 25.66 percent recorded at end-August, Poland's rail transport authority UTK reported.


UTK reported that the Polish rail handled over 18.6 million tonnes of freight in September, up 3.4 percent year on year.

In total, between January and September 2025, almost 160.6 million tonnes of cargo were transported by the Polish rail, 6 million tonnes less (down 3.6 percent) than in the prior year period.
