PKO BP SAPKO BP expects to gain at least 1 million new customers through cooperation with Allegro e-commerce
Poland's largest lender by assets PKO BP and listed e-commerce platform Allegro are launching a partnership aimed at shortening payment times for purchases and simplifying access to financing for businesses, the bank's CEO Szymon Midera told a conference. The new services are set to launch in 2025.
The new payment method, available to Allegro users, is expected to be used by over 2 million users within three years, with at least 1 million becoming new PKO BP customers.
It was stated that the cooperation between PKO BP and Allegro integrates the bank's systems with the shopping platform.
"We want to acquire a minimum of 2 million customers, users of this service, including at least 1 million new customers for this new system," said PKO BP CEO Szymon Midera at a press conference.
"PKO needs continuous digital transformation, repositioning, a change in image, and activation of this second engine," he added.
Allegro CEO Marcin Kusmierz said that this cooperation model brings benefits to the company, the bank, and their individual and business customers.
The new payment method available to Allegro users is called 'Allegro Klik' and involves linking the individual PKO BP account with the Allegro account, allowing transactions to be completed without leaving the Allegro app.
Payment authorization takes place directly on the platform. Additionally, Allegro Klik customers will receive cashback from purchases made on Allegro.
It was also stated that a key pillar of cooperation between the companies is the financing system for entrepreneurs operating on Allegro. Sellers can receive a loan for business development of up to PLN 300,000 (EUR 68,000) at the start of the PKO BP and Allegro partnership, and up to PLN 500,000 (EU 113,000) in 2026.
According to the plans, within three years, 20,000 entrepreneurs will use the loan under Allegro Capital, with total financing amounting to PLN 1.5 billion (EUR 338 mln).
