Unibep SAUnibep builder expects PLN 4 bln backlog in 2025; no y/y results improvement forecasted
Listed builder Unibep estimates that a PLN 4 billion (EUR 940.4 mln) backlog at the end of 2025 is achievable and that future sales results will improve, but does not expect an improvement in year-on-year results this year, according to statements made by management representatives during a conference. Unidevelopment plans to carry out projects in the premium segment.
"The backlog after signing contracts, including for PGE in July, amounts to approximately PLN 4.1 billion. Until the end of the year, we will do our best to sign further contracts (...). It seems that by the end of the year, over PLN 4 billion (portfolio - PAP) will be achievable," said CEO Andrzej Sterczynski.
He added that the group still has a chance to win a contract for the construction of a section of the Elk-Bialystok railway line, worth approximately PLN 6 billion (EUR 1.4 bln).
The goal of Unibep, according to the CEO, is not to sign contracts at any cost, but to obtain contracts that provide financial security.
Unibep reported that its order book for projects to be completed from the third quarter of 2025 amounts to PLN 3.5 billion (EUR 22.5 mln), compared to PLN 3.7 billion (EUR 869.9 mln) in the same period last year.
In the first half of 2025, the group concluded new contracts with a total value of approximately PLN 1.3 billion (EUR 305.6 mln), which represents a 21 percent increase year on year.
"The order backlog at the end of June amounted to PLN 3.5 billion. After that balance sheet date, we signed contracts worth over PLN 1 billion, so we are rapidly rebuilding our backlog. This backlog of PLN 3.5 billion is over PLN 400 million more than at the end of the year, so we hope to improve future sales results in each segment," said the CEO.
"PLN 1 billion in contracts signed in the third quarter indicates that the backlog will be better than last year," he added.
However, the CEO does not expect an improvement in year-on-year results this year.
Listed builder Unibep posted an operating profit of PLN 35.8 million (EUR 8.4 mln), revenues of PLN 1,035.5 million (EUR 243.8 mln) and a net profit of PLN 0.4 million (EUR 94,160) in the first half of 2025, the group's financial report has shown. The results are in line with earlier estimates.
In the first half of 2025, the group recorded a gross profit on sales of PLN 81.7 million (EUR 19.2 mln). It was reported that despite lower sales than in the prior year period, gross profit on sales was higher, both in absolute terms and as a percentage.
It was reported that the overall operating profitability achieved by the capital group in the first half of the year was influenced by a one-off event recorded in the context of its development activities.
