Orlen energy and its partners discover new hydrocarbon resources in Norway

Poland's largest energy concern Orlen's unit, Orlen Upstream Norway, together with its concession partners, has discovered new hydrocarbon resources on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The size of the E-prospect deposit is estimated at 3-7 million barrels of oil, Orlen said in a press release.


Orlen reported that drilling had encountered an additional, smaller deposit containing up to 2 million barrels of oil.

The E-prospect field is located in licence PL212. The area is directly adjacent to the Skarv deposit. The distance of E-prospect from the nearest production infrastructure is less than 8 kilometres.

The shareholders of the Skarv field are Aker BP (operator, 23.8 percent), Equinor Energy (36.2 percent), Harbour Energy Norge (28.1 percent) and Orlen Upstream (11.9 percent).
