Poland does not see worsening of inflation expectations, says c. bank governor
There is no worsening of inflation expectations to be seen at the moment, Poland's central bank NBP governor Adam Glapinski told a press conference following a Monetary Policy Council's decision on interest rates made on Wednesday.
"It's hard to tell how the growth of energy prices will impact inflationary expectations. (...) The energy prices growth can cause an increase in the expectations towards higher inflation - maybe yes, maybe no, it's hard to tell," Glapinski said.
"There is no significant worsening of inflation expectations to be seen at the moment. However, the effects of the energy prices growth can be felt more by the household in winter, when the heating costs come in, and we shall see how the inflation expectations will be then," he added.
