Poland expects gradual activity increase in industry in coming months, says FinMin
A gradual increase in activity in the industrial sector is expected in the following months, mainly due to strong domestic demand, Poland's Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski assessed, commenting on the stats office GUS' April data on industrial output.
"Industrial output in April increased by 1.2 percent, clearly above market expectations (-0.4 percent). In the following months, we expect a gradual increase in activity in the industrial sector, mainly due to strong domestic demand," Domanski wrote on X.
Poland's stats office GUS reported on Wednesday morning that the industrial production in April rose by 1.2 percent year on year, while decreasing by 3.5 percent month on month.
Analysts polled by PAP Biznes had expected industrial output in April to fall by 0.2 percent year on year and by 4.8 percent month on month.
After eliminating the impact of seasonal factors, industrial production sold in April 2025 was 0.2 percent lower than in the prior year period and 1.0 percent higher than in March.
