Poland's central bank to increase share of gold in reserves to 30 pct., says c.bank governor
Poland's central bank NBP has decided to increase the share of gold in the bank's reserves to 30 percent, the NBP governor Adam Glapinski told a press conference following the MPC decision-making meeting.
"The board of the Polish central bank NBP has accepted my proposal and made strategic decisions to increase gold reserves, raising the share of gold in our reserves and reserve assets to 30 percent," Glapinski pointed out.
Glapinski told the conference that currently a quarter of the Polish central bank's reserves is in gold, adding up to over 520 tonnes worth around PLN 240 billion (EUR 56.4 bln).
"Gold reserve are an anchor for Polish financial stability," he added.
