Poland's CPI up till around mid-2025; in 2026 to return permanently to target, says c. bank governor
By around middle of 2025, Poland's CPI inflation will remain elevated, then a reduction is expected, but in 2026 CPI will return permanently to target, Poland's central bank NBP's governor Adam Glapinski told a press conference following a Monetary Policy Council's decision on interest rates made on Wednesday.
"Until around the middle of next year, inflation may be elevated. After that, it is expected to start declining, according to the currently available projections, but only in 2026, when the effects of the energy price hike have died out and been absorbed by the economy, CPI [inflation] expected to return permanently to the MPC's target. This is the result of our July projection," Glapinski said.
