Budimex wants to actively participate in segment of construction related to military investments

Listed builder Budimex wants to actively participate in proceedings in the segment of construction related to military investments, assesses that this segment offers prospects for growth. the company's representatives told a conference.


"We have information from last week that PLN 30 billion will be shifted from Poland's national recovery plan KPO and allocated to military spending, which interests us, and we will want to actively participate in this segment, having the potential and certificates," CEO Artur Popko said.

A new Security and Defence Fund of PLN 30 billion (EUR 7.2 bln) is to be created within the KPO, with funds to be allocated to dual-use investments. The money will be redirected from the KPO's loan facility entitled Green Transformation of Cities.

"Budimex already has the highest competence today when it comes to clauses - restricted, confidential, as well as secret, as well as NATO Secret and European Union Secret and can participate in all proceedings within the EU related to military contracts. This is an opportunity and a perspective for us to grow," the board member Cezary Lysenko added.

As he reported, the group's portfolio includes nearly PLN 1.5 billion (EUR 358.4 mln) of military contracts, which are realised in various locations.
