PZU SAPZU insurer wants to expand its healthcare business
Listed insurance group PZU wants its healthcare business to grow faster and plans to strengthen PZU Zdrowie's capital so that the company has the funds to increase the number of medical facilities more quickly, PZU management board member Jan Zimowicz told a conference following the release of group's semi-annual financial report.
"By the end of next year, we plan to open or modernise and expand 11 PZU Zdrowie locations. We are primarily targeting places where PZU Zdrowie does not currently have any outlets, this is, large areas and agglomerations where we do not have our facilities, so that our customers who are insured there and who have our subscriptions can receive treatment at PZU Zdrowie outlets," Zimowicz told the conference.
"We will try to strengthen this process both through green fields, i.e., new facilities, but also through acquisitions. We are also working on strengthening PZU Zdrowie's capital so that this process can accelerate, and it has the funds to make these new openings happen at a pace that allows for the implementation of the strategy," he added.
In the first half of 2025, PZU's revenues in the entire health pillar exceeded PLN 1 billion (EUR 234.3 mln), up by 14.2 percent year on year.
The strategy for 2027 in the area of health, published in December 2024, assumed an increase in revenues of over 60 percent to more than PLN 3 billion (EUR 702.9 million) and a doubling of EBITDA.
