Poland prices 7- and 12-year EUR-denominated benchmark bonds worth EUR 3 bln in total
Poland's Ministry of Finance has priced two tranches of EUR-denominated benchmark bonds (7-year and 12-year) with a total nominal value of EUR 3 billion, the ministry said in a statement. Total demand exceeded EUR 5.7 billion.
The 7-year bonds worth EUR 1.75 billion, maturing on July 7, 2032, were priced at 75 basis points above the average swap rate. The yield was 3.178 percent, with an annual coupon of 3.125 percent.
The 12-year bonds worth EUR 1.25 billion, maturing on July 7, 2037, were priced at 120 basis points above the average swap rate. The yield was 3.903 percent, with an annual coupon of 3.875 percent.
"The proceeds from the green bond issue will be used to finance pro-environmental projects in accordance with the Green Bond Framework and the Second Party Opinion received from Sustainalytics. Poland was the first country to issue Green Bonds in 2016. The last such issue took place in 2019," the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
"Investors have once again confirmed their interest in Polish euro-denominated bonds, with total demand exceeding EUR 5.7 billion," it added.
The issue was carried out under the European Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme. The consortium arranging the issue was led by Citigroup Global Markets Europe AG, Commerzbank AG, ING Bank N.V. and Santander S.A.
