Poland's MPC will not decide to cut rates in July, reduction possible in September, says MPC member
Poland's Monetary Policy Council member Ludwik Kotecki estimates that the Monetary Policy Council will not decide on a rate cut in July due to the global situation, and that a reduction may occur in September.
Kotecki indicated that Poland's stats office GUS information on wages, which is starting to be a very important element for the Monetary Policy Council.
"Nevertheless, I believe that due to the global situation, the Council will not decide on a reduction in July, but in my opinion, if not in July, if there is not something that we are not yet able to imagine until September, then in September there will certainly be such a reduction," Kotecki aid during XIX Funds Forum.
"In the whole of the rest of the year, that is, in the second half of the year, 50 basis points of rates should - in my opinion - fall," he added.
