Orlen SAOrlen energy expects better EBITDA LIFO result in H2 2024
Poland's largest energy concern Orlen expects a better EBITDA LIFO result in the second half of 2024, the company's deputy CEO Magdalena Bartos told a press conference. The lack of a gas write-down in the upstream segment is expected to contribute to the improvement. The company is comfortable with the consensus expectation of year-end LIFO EBITDA of PLN 31.2 billion (EUR 7.3 bln).
"In the second half of the year, we expect a better LIFO EBITDA result due to the absence of a gas write-down in the upstream segment," Bartos said.
The deputy CEO expects stable results in the second half of 2024 in the retail and petrochemicals segments.
"Deterioration of results is possible for the refining (decline in refining margins and differential) and power (lower cogeneration season with an increase in raw material costs) segments," Magdalena Bartos said.
She added that the company feels "quite comfortable" with the consensus of analysts' expectations for LIFO EBITDA in 2024.
According to the consensus published on Orlen's investor relations page, analysts expect LIFO EBITDA to reach PLN 31.2 billion (EUR 7.3 bln) and revenue at PLN 307.3 billion (EUR 71.7 bln) in 2024.
